Chronotopic Anamorphosis from Marginalia Project on Vimeo.

A very simple video distortion leads to a unique and funny effect: This is a demo done by Andre Mintz in Processing. It just slices the video image in small horizontal lines that lag in time one frame more for each line. The result is a morphing of shapes and even bodies. Used on simple objects like a tape ring or a door you get something like warp-fields or super-heroes. Watch it through, it gets even better over time!

UPDATE: And if you have a webcam ready, you can try it out for yourself. Casey Pugh did a port of the same idea in Flash.
