CSS Framework Blueprint

added on Sunday, Aug 12, 2007 21:21 pm

I would like to point to a new CSS framework called “Blueprint”, made by Olav Bjørkøy. CSS Framework means: It’s a set of CSS definitions you can use to build your website design unto. The advantage is: Lots of everday-problems are already solved across the major browsers. You can just use and rely on what’s already there. You link the CSS definitions by using the built-in classes and IDs and you’re done. ¬ Full Entry

Cricket Alert Sound

added on Wednesday, Jul 25, 2007 8:42 am

It‘s not an easy task to find good alert sounds for Mac OS X. If you are bored of “Ping” and “Hero” and the other default ones, I really don‘t know where to get quality alternatives that are short, sweet and do not get on your nerves after hearing them three times. But now I think I have found the perfect alert sound: ¬ Full Entry

Pownce vs. Twitter

added on Tuesday, Jul 03, 2007 9:23 am

Pownce Logo Pownce is a new web service that gets a lot of attention right now. Think of it as a weblog site of short text-posts that you can share with a network of friends. That sounds like Twitter you think? Absolutely right. We will see which of the two will win in the long run. Obviously most people will not want to hang around in both.

If you would like to try it: I have 5 invites left. Please leave a comment with your e-mail address after the jump and I will get you in. ¬ Comments

New Syntax Highlighting Colors for Coda

added on Saturday, May 05, 2007 10:17 am

Screenshot of Coda syntax highlighting

Since its release a few days ago the web development app Coda is causing major ripples. A phantastic piece of software, but I was never a fan of the default colors they chose for the syntax highlighting in the code view. Fortunately they made the colors customizable and added save and export functionality. So I changed them. You can download and import the new color choices I did for PHP-HTML, HTML, CSS and XML code. Get a closer look here: ¬ Full Entry

Coda

added on Saturday, May 05, 2007 9:04 am

Panic released a new web development tool named Coda yesterday. One might think that there is no room in this market for another tool. But maybe time will tell that there IS room, right between the “Text Editors” Textmate and “BBEdit” and the “Visual Apps” Dreamweaver/Golive.

The first look on Coda was a pleasant surprise, that is why I will post my experiences as I start working with it. A mixture of hands-on-experience and a review:

UPDATE 25 Apr: Split window with preview on the top and linked CSS code on the bottom is not so easy to do. You need to drag files to the window half. Read on.

UPDATE 26 Apr

UPDATE 4 May Coda Update to version 1.0.1 ¬ Full Entry
